Pontus Jansson has told the Swedish media he hopes to be a permanent Leeds United player very soon. The 25-year-old is currently on loan with the Championship side from Serie A club Torino.

Speaking to Aftonbladet, ahead of Sweden’s World Cup qualifiers Jansson was asked how he felt about playing for Leeds United after his experiences at Torino.

The defender revealed he hopes soon to be become a Leeds United full time fixture because he’s enjoying life in England. The player said he is now getting playing time which is good not just for him, but also the team.

“But hopefully I am a Leeds player real soon. And it’s fun because I’m getting on very well. I get to play many matches and it is good for me and for the team. Life is good,” said the Swede.

Leeds United have an obligation to sign Jansson if he plays 20 games, and the Sweden international recently revealed this was agreed when he joined the club.

With Jansson’s performances in the past few weeks it’s looking very likely he will reach this number of games, and will become a permanent fixture at Elland Road.
