Swapping Nice for London by transferring to Fulham last summer, Jean-Michael Seri’s time at Craven Cottage didn’t end the way it was meant to.
The newly promoted Premier League side spent vast amounts of money last year to try and consolidate their elite status, only for them to struggle throughout the campaign and end up getting relegated back to the Championship.
Not keen on playing in England’s second-tier, the Ivory Coast international is expected to leave Fulham this summer, with a return to Ligue 1 touted.
However, his exact destination has yet to be revealed, and that could be because offers are still incoming.
According to Le10 Sport, Lyon are reportedly interested in his services, with some within the club said to be ‘favourable’ to his arrival in the south(ish) of France, including Florian Maurice, who is in charge of the recruiting cell.
However, Juninho Pernambucano, recently appointed as the Ligue 1 side’s director of football, isn’t too keen on the Fulham player, and his vote counts for a lot these days.
The fee required wouldn’t be the €30m paid by the Cottagers last year, with €15-20m reportedly enough.
Still, if the director of football isn’t keen on you, that’s normally an issue.
Monaco are also reportedly on the case.
