Destiny Udogie’s move to Tottenham Hotspur is expected to be announced soon, with the Udinese player travelling to London on Sunday evening.

The 19-year-old was seen at Verona airport by the Italian media, who approached him for comment on the move. Given the deal is so close to being completed, the youngster was prepared to talk about the move and his plans for the season.

TMW quote Udogie as saying: “I’m very happy. It’s a good feeling to go to the Premier League, work with Conte, sign with Tottenham. I am convinced that with Mr. Conte I will be able to grow further. For now, however, it is also important to return on loan to Udine, I want to have a good season.”

Udogie is set to sign a long term contract with Spurs and then head back to Udinese on loan for the rest of campaign. It’s thought he’ll get more minutes at the Serie A club and will therefore be able to progress further and hopefully make himself more ready for a career with Tottenham.

TMW state Udogie travelled with intermediary Gianluca Di Carlo, who is said to be working on behalf of the London club, as well as agents Stefano Antonelli and Ferdinando Guarino.
