On May 15th, Il Tempo reported Leeds United have shown keen interest in AS Roma’s Edoardo Bove.
A fresh report from Il Tempo, relayed by Voce Giallo Rossa, gives a background on Leeds’ efforts to try and sign him.
It’s claimed the midfielder had already set up a negotiation with Leeds, but this option has been discarded after they failed to secure promotion to the Premier League.
Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, for his part, plans to sell the 22-year-old in the summer window for €18-20m.
Bove could find it difficult to enjoy regular minutes under Daniele De Rossi next season, and therefore, he could consider leaving them this summer. The possibility of moving to England ‘teases’ him, where only Leeds are named as a suitor.
It’s claimed Kia Joorabchian was tasked with finding him a club in England. An intermediary had contacted Leeds to set up a negotiation, but the deal didn’t progress because of their failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Perhaps if the weeks roll on and Bove still needs a move, Leeds United could come back into the picture.
