Two days ago, we carried a report from Sky Italia, who explained Tottenham Hotspur are chasing Olivier Giroud.

The Chelsea striker has also been on Lazio’s radar after Inter Milan reportedly decided against signing him.

Spurs are not the only English club after the France international as Manchester United and Newcastle United are also included in the list. This has been claimed by intermediary Vincenzo Morabito.

He provides an update on interest in the World Cup winner.

“Rome is historically a very hot square, it is passionate and hungry. The Biancoceleste club has been making great strides lately: it is making me relive a bit the times of Cragnotti’s Lazio and even today there is a great coach,” Morabito told Sky Italia.

“Surely Giroud is evaluating this destination: only the fact that a world champion is also sought by Tottenham, Manchester United, Newcastle and Inter is reflecting on Lazio is a positive sign.”

Tottenham and United are in the market looking for an attacker following injuries to Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford respectively. These two sides could and other suitors face an obstacle in signing Giroud, according to Morabito.

“Right now, the situation is completely blocked because it depends on Chelsea,” he said.

Chelsea need to bring in a replacement before sanctioning Giroud’s sale.
