Aksam report Everton have tabled a new bid for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Ozyakup has been linked with Everton in recent weeks following talks with his agent.
The Turkish website say Everton want to sign Ozyakup, and they are looking to offer cash plus Davy Klaassen to sign him.
It’s claimed Ozyakup has a €12m release clause but Everton don’t want to pay the full amount and therefore are hoping to use Klaassen in a possible deal.
Given what Klaassen cost, none of this makes sense.
The Dutch midfielder is reportedly a target for the Turkish giants after claims the Besiktas board are exploring the possibility of signing the Everton outcast to replace Anderson Talisca.
According to Aksam, Besiktas are considering Everton’s offer and they’ll talk to Premier League club once Talisca’s future is sorted out.
Klaassen didn’t enjoy the best of debut seasons at Everton after his €27m move from Ajax. The Netherlands international played just seven Premier League games under three different managers, but his agent has insisted he doesn’t want to move.
Technically, Ozyakup hasn’t yet renewed his contract, which ends next month. There have been Turkish claims of a ‘secret’ renewal, but there’s nothing official.
So, Aksam want us all to believe Everton would offer a €27m player, plus cash, for Ozyakup, whose contract is/was due to run out in weeks.
No. This is now Marcel Brands we’re talking about.
