On June 17th, Tuttosport said Arthur Melo could end up at Everton this summer as they have shown concrete interest in the Juventus player.
The midfielder was on loan at Fiorentina last season, where he did well, but they haven’t made his stay permanent. Arthur has returned to the Turin club, and has no future there.
Four days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the 27-year-old’s agent, Federico Pastorello, is working to find a solution for his client. It was also stated Everton are in the picture, but they need to push to try and sign him.
UOL in Brazil claims Arthur isn’t included in new Juve manager Thiago Motta’s plans next season. Therefore, he has ‘already received authorisation’ to look for a new club in this window.
Everton are the only club to be tagged and the report states they are the ‘most interested’ party to secure the former Barcelona man’s services.
It’s further claimed the Toffees will ‘soon come forward with an official offer’ to sign the Brazilian. The report makes no mention of the fee Sean Dyche’s side are ready to offer or the money needed to convince Juve.
Arthur has also been approached by unnamed Brazilian club, but his desire is to continue in Europe, where Everton are keen.
The South American was on loan at Liverpool during the 2022/23 season, and he failed to impress for the Reds. He would be hoping to shine if Everton were able to bring him back to Merseyside.
