Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has confirmed he’s getting interest from other clubs, but a decision on his future will only be made after the World Cup.
Speaking to Sportbladet, Jansson was asked about his future at Leeds United: “There is interest. All I know is that I’m going to stay in England. It will be a lot for me to leave England. I really enjoy Leeds. But I want to see their ambitions, now it the time to get into the Premier League.”
“I want to play in the Premier League. But I do not want to answer these questions before the World Cup. I’ve said that to Martin ( his agent).”
Jansson has never hidden his desire to player in the Premier League but has always stated he would prefer to achieve this with Leeds United.
However, with Leed’s disappointing campaign last season this has put doubts over his future at Elland Road.
The Swede was linked with a move to Southampton last year as a possible replacement for Virgil van Dijk, but a move never materialised.
In recent weeks the defender has said he will deal with his Leeds United future when he returns from Russia and that he wants to know the club’s plans.
