Anel Ahmedhodžić’s fine displays for Swedish side Malmö FF have caught the attention of clubs across Europe.
Earlier reports coming out of Italy stated Chelsea are one of the sides who are monitoring the player, along with AC Milan.
The 21-year-old’s father, Mirsad Ahmedhodžić, was recently critical of his son’s agent, Markus Rosenberg.
On November 9th, Mirsad stressed the representative doesn’t want to take the centre-back to Stamford Bridge. Anel, however, then expressed his disappointment over his father’s comments.
The Blues’ links aren’t going away as SportSport.ba in Bosnia are reporting the defender is ‘already wanted’ by Frank Lampard’s side, Milan, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax.
With interest from several clubs, the outlet adds Malmö are aware they will not be able to keep their player beyond the next summer transfer window. It’s also claimed a move away from the Swedish side in January remains a ‘realistic’ possibility.
SportSport.ba have gathered comments from Rosenberg. The representative didn’t provide any details of the clubs who remain interested in Ahmedhodžić, but talked about the conditions to change clubs.
“The interest is enormous. Almost daily it is written about Anel and it is no secret that there are always new clubs calling him. It doesn’t necessarily have to be clubs, but agents or people who deal with transfers or are intermediaries of some teams,” Rosenberg said,
“Anel has it all. Of course, he can still learn a lot, but if you look at the important qualities – he is young, tall, built, has technique and a good overview. He’s got it all.
“Anel has to go to a club where he can flourish completely, somewhere he won’t end up on the bench. All the clubs have been following Anel for some time and so they know why they want to bring him in. During the winter break, we will listen to the various offers we get.”
