Inter Milan are aware it could take at least €25m for them to sign left-back Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea this summer.
The Italian side are pushing ahead with their planning for the summer transfer window, with Antonio Conte looking to improve several areas of his team.
He is keen to add at least two full-backs to his squad, and Chelsea’s Palmieri is a player that the Italian boss has long admired.
Gazzetta Dello Sport explain that Conte holds the left-back in high esteem and would like to take him to Inter.
They were interested in the January transfer window, but a move never happened, and they now know it ‘could take’ €25m to get him out of Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea aren’t all that keen on selling but negotiations over a new deal for the 25-year-old, whose current contract expires in 2022, ‘haven’t led to anything’.
Should they not be able to get Emerson, Marcos Alonso ‘remains in their thoughts’, but Conte intends to bring the age of the squad down making the former more of a priority.
Those two are not the only ones Inter are targeting either though, with Gazzetta also explaining that Olivier Giroud ‘remains a priority’ for them.
The Frenchman was extremely close to completing a move in January only for Inter not to seal the deal but will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Much of the work Inter do to add to their frontline will depend on the future of Lautaro Martínez, but as he’s on a free, and would add experience to the squad, the Serie A side are happy to make an ‘exception’.
