With Tuesday (today) being the final day for Fiorentina to trigger the clause in the deal with Arsenal for Lucas Torreira, all eyes will be on the Serie A side’s movements.
The Uruguay midfielder was sent on loan to Florence for the year to get some game time, which he did, and everyone thought the definitive transfer would be smooth and problem free.
However, there have been quite a few bumps over the past week, and everyone has left it late, with Fiorentina reportedly trying to get some sort of discount.
That hasn’t happened yet, and the next few hours will be decisive, with Torreira simply waiting to see if his time at Arsenal will definitely come to an end.
If it were up to him, he would already be a full-time Fiorentina player, which is something he expressed to FanPage in Italy in an interview with a website.
Talking about his career and various topics, the Arsenal loanee was asked, right at the end, what his future would be made of.
His reply? “My intention is to stay at Fiorentina, but the club will need to find an agreement with Arsenal. I am very well in Florence. I am very well in Italy.”
