Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has not been ruled out by Galatasaray and is instead suffering with an adductor injury.
That’s according to journalist Loïc Tanzi, who seems to hint that reports from Turkey regarding the Tottenham man are wide of the mark.
Ndombele is currently on loan with the Turkish side after joining them in the summer when it was once again made clear he was not a part of Tottenham’s plans moving forwards.
A report from Turkey yesterday made it clear that the loan deal is not going to plan, and the midfielder is currently 6kg overweight.
That had led to frustration at Galatasaray, with it claimed that manager Okan Buruk had lost patience with the player and wanted him sent back to Tottenham in the January transfer window.
That was followed by further criticism today, explaining that the player hasn’t lived up to expectations and Buruk had actually rejected the idea of the signing twice in the summer.
Tanzi insists this isn’t the case, though, stating that Ndombele is ‘not ruled out by his coach’ and is instead resting after undergoing an MRI scan on Monday.
According to him, the Tottenham man is out injured with an adductor injury, and this is the reason he has been absent from training with Galatasaray. As far as he is concerned, reports from Turkey are very much wide of the mark.
This information from him very much feels like Ndombele’s representatives hitting back via a journalist they trust; with the reports this week very much having painted the Spurs man in a negative light.
What the truth is remains to be seen and it will certainly be interesting to see the reaction in Turkey after Tanzi’s update.
