Paris Saint-Germain want to further strengthen their squad for next season and have identified Thibaut Courtois as one of the goalkeeper targets in the summer transfer window, according to what are now repeated reports.

The Ligue 1 winners currently have the services of Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola as the two first choice goalkeepers at the Parc des Princes.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the executives of Paris club have “internally validated” that it is necessary for them to bring in a new goalkeeper for the 2018/19 campaign.

Two names identified by PSG are Chelsea’s Courtois and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Belgium international will have one year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and so far has decided against signing an extension.

The Belgian’s profile is “appreciated” by PSG, with the French champions and Courtois’ camp have already held talks. The same report claims the two parties have had at least two meetings, and it’s not the first time such a thing has been claimed.

Courtios is not the only player linked with PSG. The French capital club’s sporting director Antero Henrique has also identified Donnarumma, managed by Mino Raiola.

It’s worth noting Courtois’ camp have denied meeting PSG, but the club’s closest media continue to insist it happened.
