Newcastle United remain in the hunt for Napoli star Victor Osimhen, but whether they’ll pay his €100m asking price remains to be seen.
That’s according to Italian journalist Nicolo Ceccarini, who insists the Magpies continue to show an interest in the striker.
Osimhen has been the subject of interest from the Premier League for the past few months, after a season that’s seen him score 18 goals and register six assists in 31 games in all competitions.
Newcastle are known to be big admirers, with them reportedly making a €100m joint bid for him and teammate Fabian Ruiz in the January transfer window.
That move never happened, but they’ve continued to be linked since then, with several reports out of Italy making it clear they could return with another big-money offer in the summer.
Ceccarini has again insisted that is the case, although he is not certain if Newcastle will bring the €100m that Aurelio de Laurentiis is reportedly looking for.
“Osimhen? Let’s keep an eye on him throughout the summer,” Area Napoli report him saying.
“I don’t know if 100 million will come, but there is Arsenal, United and Newcastle on the boy. In case of departure, in pole is the Albanian Broja.”
