Another European giant has reportedly joined the race for the Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca. This time, it’s Juventus.
As reported by Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã today, the Old Lady are interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer, and should now battle Liverpool and Manchester United for the transfer.
Anderson Talisca has spent the past two seasons at Besiktas, and is now returning from the loan as the Turkish side chose not to pay the €21m set in his buying clause.
As Benfica are not keeping him, Correio da Manhã claims that the club will make an auction. The intention was to sell the player for around €40m, although the lack of offers may decrease this price.
For some reason, maybe because of José Mourinho, Manchester United get more attention than Liverpool in the story, as they’re mentioned in a highlight where the Reds are not.
There’s repeated insistence United are keen on the player and that could be down to Mourinho being a long time fan of the Brazilian.
However, Correio gives absolutely no detail on which club would be leading the race for now.
It continues to sound like Benfica and Talisca want a move to these clubs more than the clubs want the player.
With an entire transfer window to go, it’s easy to predict a big auction for Talisca, but in a month or two, we’ll see if these European giants were ever interested in the midfielder.
That’s when he may leave for a lot less than expected.
