Everton are in the picture to sign Getafe’s Omar Alderete this summer, according to a report from South America.
The Paraguay international initially joined the La Liga side on loan in 2022 and they made his stay permanent in May 2023.
Sevilla have shown interest in the centre-back and there are claims that they have made an offer.
This is relayed by Versus, who then provide their own take on the Andalusian club and Everton.
After discussing Sevilla’s interest in the defender, the report claims another club has made contact to sign him, and this is said to be Everton.
Journalist Christian Pérez further adds that it’ll be a battle between the Spanish club and Sean Dyche’s side for the Paraguayan.
Getafe paid €4m to buy the player and offered him a deal until 2028. Versus points it out and adds that they will request for a ‘good money’ to part ways with Alderete, without specifying any figures.
Paraguay were eliminated from the Copa América group stages, and the defender played all three games, scoring a goal in their 4-1 defeat to Brazil.
