Chelsea are once again mentioned as in the running to sign Robert Lewandowski.

In what now appears to be an open secret, the Polish striker wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer and has appointed Pini Zahavi to get a deal done.

Zahavi has been given a mandate until September 1st, to get Lewandowski to one of four clubs, report L’Equipe, with three of those named.

Real Madrid are the most favoured option, but the French newspaper also name Chelsea and PSG.

Bayern Munich are reluctant sellers, and a price has been estimated at over €100m. That could represent a good deal for the German club and may help to persuade them.

Lewandowski is still in his pomp, but turns 30 years of age this summer and can’t continue at his current level forever.

It has to be doubtful whether Roman Abramovich would go much over €100m for the player, if the Chelsea interest is genuine.

The London club have repeatedly been linked with purchasing a new striker, and Lewandowski would certainly fit the bill, but at what cost?
