Over the past week or so, there’s been repeated claims of Manchester City interest in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.

On Thursday, Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller stated Manchester City haven’t made direct contact for the striker.

Monday’s edition of Rheinische Post suggests the 25-year-old seems to be on his way to Manchester City and the fee and timing needs to be clarified.

On Saturday, the Egypt international scored his 19th goal of the season in his side’s 1-0 win over St. Pauli. After the tie, he didn’t speak to the media as questions would have been about the Manchester City links.

Eintracht Frankfurt director Markus Krösche spoke to Sky Deutschland and isn’t certain the 25-year-old will even be in the squad to face SC Freiburg on Tuesday.

“I can’t answer that 100%. I say that quite honestly. The goal, as I have always said, is that we want to keep this team together. So far I don’t see anything out of the ordinary,” he said.
Krösche’s comments insinuate the frontman could leave the German club for Manchester City quickly, or at the least the two clubs could agree a deal in the next few hours.
The newspaper relay claims made elsewhere of Marmoush’s agreement with the Citizens and about Eintracht Frankfurt requesting €80m from Manchester City for their star.
There’s no clarity whether Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to meet the fee requested by the German club for Marmoush. Either way, Krösche’s comments indicate there could be progress in a very short period of time.
