Jude Bellingham has made 17 appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season, scoring eight goals and adding two assists along the way.
Still just 19-years-of-age, the midfielder is receiving growing attention, and therefore it’s time for Borussia Dortmund to start thinking about the kind of fee they’ll be able to get.
According to Bild, ‘industry insiders are certain’ that Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid will compete for the midfielder when it comes time for him to move. Next summer is looking the likely market, and the German newspaper believe Dortmund could get €150m, which would be a record transfer fee for them.
That’s a huge amount, and even though Bellingham is very highly thought of, €150m is a figure that many clubs will question. When it comes to Real Madrid, who have spent on their midfield in recent summers, they may feel it’s a figure too far and an addition they don’t need.
What Chelsea or Manchester City would think of such an amount is unknown, and if no club will pay that fee then BVB may have to drop their demands.
How Bellingham does at the World Cup will surely impact things, a starring role for England and it may make Chelsea and Manchester City think €150m isn’t so bad.
