The Italian media are convinced Patrick Cutrone will be leaving Fiorentina in the January window, cutting short his loan move from Wolves.

Despite Raul Jimenez’s injury situation, it’s not thought the Premier League club see a future with Cutrone, so he’ll need to find a home elsewhere.

That will almost certainly be in Italy, given the striker failed to settle fully when he initially moved to English football. AC Milan’s handling of that transfer probably didn’t help, with Cutrone turfed out very much against his wishes and without much notice.

Wolves will know there’s interest in Serie A so they will likely help facilitate a change of location, and it’s precisely that reason why the exit is seen as a near-fact, as reported by La Repubblica on Monday.

What nobody involved will have wanted is anything putting a new transfer in danger.

Well, Calciomercato now report that Cutrone has been excluded from Fiorentina’s squad to face Juventus, and it’s explained the player is ‘struggling’ with lower back pain.

Of course, this isn’t the best news just days before the transfer window opens.
