Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Enso González is close to joining the rest of the group for training, according to La Nación.

The 19-year-old arrived at Wolves from Paraguayan side Club Libertad in August 2023 and waited until the end of last season to make his senior team debut. He came off the bench against Crystal Palace in May 2024 and that’s been his only appearance for Wolves’ senior team.

González suffered a serious knee injury while in action for Paraguay at the Olympics in Paris last summer. He underwent surgery and has been sidelined since then.

Two months ago, the winger said he hopes to train with the ball in April. La Nación’s European correspondent Christian Martin has shared updates on the Paraguay U23 international’s injury situation.

He claims the Wolves player is ‘close to joining the team’, most likely for training. Martin adds the South American would return, likely to the pitch, at the end of March or start of April.

In other words, González would be aiming to return from injury after March’s international break. He’ll have to impress Vítor Pereira in training to get some minutes with Wolves this season.
