Tuttosport’s story about M’Baye Niang today could mean two things for Everton: It’s either time to go and get the player or give up on the signing for good.
The newspaper tells how the 22-year-old has had several chances to prove himself in preseason, but hasn’t taken any of them.
Niang’s efforts to get a place in the team haven’t been enough, and that’s one of the reasons why he’s even been booed during games.
It’s claimed that manager Vincenzo Montella wants to give the striker another chance, but he hasn’t been showing he deserves that, therefore, Tuttosport believe an exit is possible, and mention Everton.
Tuttosport recalls that the player could have gone to Everton in June, and the suggestion is that Niang should be available for a more reasonable price after given what’s happened in the month or so since then.
But would all this encourage Everton or see them back-off from the transfer?
Niang is very talented, at times over the years it’s felt like as much as there’s a willingness for him to do well at Milan, it’s matched in some way by a willingness for him to fail.
Everton and Ronald Koeman could provide the perfect answer.
