On the pitch for the entire 120 minutes on Thursday night, Emerson Palmieri has provided Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri with a solid rotation option for Marcos Alonso in the Europa League.

In the league, however, the Spaniard is king, as the Italy international has only started 10% of games, which leads to the question of whether he should go elsewhere to find more regular first-team football.

One team appear ready to offer him that in Serie A, as Inter are considering him for a left-back role to compete with Kwadwo Asamoah, who recently turned 30 and needs someone else at the club to challenge him for the role.

Gazzetta dello Sport state ‘all the information’ points towards the Chelsea man, who was brought to the Premier League by Antonio Conte, who himself is in line to replace Luciano Spalletti at the helm at San Siro.

Of course, all this remains pure speculation until the former Blues manager is appointed, yet we all know clubs prepare for such things, as seen by Jorginho’s transfer to Stamford Bridge last season, which was clearly a condition set by Sarri for him to agree to the move.

Speaking of the Chelsea manager, it was reported earlier that he would like to keep Emerson around next season, ‘pressing to convince him’ to stay after the left-back’s representatives met with Inter a couple of weeks ago.
