Manchester United supporters will be well aware that for many years footballers have used the club’s name to try and help them get better renewals with their current team.
Recent claims around Hakan Çalhanoğlu have felt very much in that category, with the 26-year-old seeing his contract expire at the end of this season and AC Milan hoping they can extend it.
Nevertheless, the claims continue to pop up and Italy’s La Repubblica has joined in.
They say ‘an indiscretion has arrived’ and that information states Manchester United aren’t the only club pursuing a potential free transfer.
Inter Milan have now been brought into the picture, and that’s no great surprise given such interest would put a lot of pressure on AC Milan.
Not wanting to lose their player to their local rivals, that would be another nudge for the Serie A club in the same way the Manchester United claims have looked to be.
There’s several months for this continue and it would be no surprise if further clubs are dragged into the situation.
