Kristoffer Ajer featured regularly for Celtic during the 2018/19 season, making 35 starts in all competitions.

Ajer still has three more years left on his contract with Celtic and while speaking to Norway’s TV2, the centre-back stressed he will not follow the footsteps of those who have left the club recently.

“I play in one of the world’s biggest clubs, play at Celtic Park and have great ambitions with Celtic. I have a three year deal, so there is no stress at all. I’m incredibly happy to be at Celtic,” the defender said.

The 21-year-old has been the part of the Bhoys’ domestic treble winning squad and says it has been a “dream season” for him and his teammates.

The Norwegian’s performances for the Scottish Premiership winners have been compared to Van Dijk, who has been instrumental in helping Liverpool win the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Ajer also hailed 16-year-old Karamoko Dembélé, who made his first team debut at Celtic last month.

“He [Karamoko Dembélé] is a huge talent. 16 years and half my size (laughs). He has amazing footwork and is good with the ball,” Ajer stressed.
