Leeds United announced this week the signing of winger Raphinha, who joined the club in a €18.5m deal from French side Rennes.

It turns out the Brazilian has a quite famous agent, which is former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Deco, who’s been working as a representative since his retirement.

Deco was interviewed by Lance today, and talked a little about the big expectations around Raphinha in his first experience in the Premier League.

“Raphinha is a player of incredible quality, he can adapt to the most diverse styles of play,” Deco told Lance.

“It was like this where he went and in the Premier League it will be no different, especially at Leeds, who play a purposeful, offensive football, he has everything for it to work out. I’m sure he will make history.”

Raphinha started his career at Brazilian side Avaí, and was taken to Portugal at the age of 19. He played for Vitória Guimarães and Sporting in Liga NOS, and was sold to Rennes in a €22m deal in 2019.

In his only season in France, the winger had eight goals and seven assists in 46 appearances, and that’s why he received attention from Marcelo Bielsa’s side. He’s expected to make his debut for Leeds United after the current international break.
