Paul Pogba’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and he could again be leaving Manchester United as a free agent.
The Frenchman moved to Juventus in July 2012, and made himself a star with the Serie A club. That saw him return to Old Trafford in a big money move, and he could again be retracing his steps, report Gazzetta dello Sport.
Convinced that the midfielder wants a return to Turin, the Italian newspaper says the relationship between Pogba and Juventus is ‘increasingly less secret’. There’s not just nostalgic messages being sent between the two, with it thought there’s more going on than that.
Indeed, according to the report, Pogba has told his agent, Mino Raiola, to give priority to a return to the Bianconeri. That’s despite it being stated both Real Madrid and PSG are keen on signing the Manchester United player.
Juventus’ problem is Pogba’s wages, with the €14m plus bonuses it’s thought he could get at United, out of their reach. The club would be helped by Italy’s Growth Decree, which could see the player pay half the taxes he otherwise would have.
On top of that, Gazzetta suggest Pogba could make an effort, and accept a lower salary than he could get elsewhere.
