The agent of Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has backed his client to join a big club like Chelsea in the future.
The 20-year-old arrived in Russia from Georgian side Rustavi in 2019 and was directly involved in eight league goals [three goals and five assists] in his first season with Rubin Kazan.
Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugeli revealed he held talks with five European clubs in the last summer window, but a move was ruled out because Rubin Kazan weren’t in favour of the player’s exit.
“There are five clubs with whom I spoke during the summer market. We talked it over with Rubin and the coach, but the farewell was [considered] premature [at that time],” Jugeli told Popsport, as relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb.
The representative also revealed Bayern Munich looked to sign the Georgia international in 2018, while he still playing in his home country. They even travelled to Germany to visit the Bundesliga side’s training facilities.
Kvaratskhelia has four goals and eight assists to his name in 22 league appearances this season.
There’s still a long way to go for the young wideman, but his agent remains confident his client can join the likes of Chelsea or another big club in the future.
“He has to play and gain experience. In five years, I want him to play for Real Madrid. Bayern Munich wanted to sign him in 2018, we visited their facilities and met Hasan Salihamidžić,” the agent explained.
“I believe that in the future a top club such as Real, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter, Milan, Chelsea or Bayern itself could be worth it.”
Kvaratskhelia’s representative remains confident the winger’s qualities can take him to a top club. He cites it as a reason for the player rejecting the likes of Genoa and Udinese.
“The important thing is not to get burned. Khvicha is not a player yet. It will take a lot of hard work to reach their level. No, not yet the first star, but if I didn’t really believe in his future, I would have already given him to Genoa or Udinese,” Jugeli concluded.
