Glasgow Rangers star Ianis Hagi has been urged to consider staying at the club this summer rather than making a return to Italy.
Hagi has been a star for Rangers since arriving on loan from Genk in the January transfer window, managing three goals and two assists in 12 games thus far.
Steven Gerrard’s side have an option to turn his move into a permanent one in the summer, something they are widely expected to do.
However, the prospect of the 21-year-old staying at Ibrox beyond the summer look slim, with numerous rumours claiming that he has told Rangers he has no intention of remaining in Scotland even if they do buy him permanently.
Instead, it is looking like he could end up in Italy, with Lazio thought to be keen on his signature whether he stays with Rangers or moves to Genk.
Former Romani star Ciprian Marica thinks that would be a bad move, though, and has urged him to stick with Gerrard and co for a while longer.
“It would be good for Ianis Hagi to be a starter for the Glasgow Rangers and continue on this team,” he told TVR Sport, relayed by Pro Sport.
“For him, it is important to play! Lazio is a very good team, and I don’t know if it would be appropriate for him to change and go to a big team.
“I don’t think that Ianis Hagi is a guaranteed starter, who will go to Lazio and stake a claim for a place in the starting eleven immediately.
“He is a very young player who needs games and needs to stay important.”
