On February 24th, we covered claims made by journalist Eduardo Inda, who stated that Marco Asensio has ‘two offers’ and one of them is from Arsenal.
Inda also stated the north London club are ready to offer the Real Madrid player more wages than what the La Liga side plan to include in their own renewal.
The winger has nine goals and one assist in all competitions this season and his current deal runs down in 2023.
His current wages don’t even reach €5m and Sport claim the 26-year-old ‘does not want to continue’ in Madrid if there is ‘no salary increase’.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side, for their part, have doubts whether to offer a new deal or cash in from the attacker’s sale. Without a ‘salary increase’, the Spain international will not sign a new deal.
Therefore, the newspaper explains Los Blancos ‘will study offers’ for him in the summer.
‘Important clubs want’ the ex-Mallorca man and this includes the Gunners. According to Sport, Mikel Arteta’s side are one of his ‘main bidders’ from the Premier League.
Asension has a €700m release clause in his contract, but Real Madrid ‘could transfer’ him for around €50-60m after this season, so that they don’t risk losing the player for nothing in 2023.
