Technically loaned to Toulouse until the end of the month, Celtic’s Vakoun Issouf Bayo has yet to decide what his future is made of.
The striker scored 13 goals for the Ligue 2 side last season in 36 appearances in all competitions, which was enough to make the club think about extending the deal.
This is what La Dépêche are reporting on Thursday following a press conference led by Damien Comolli, the club’s president.
Asked about the Celtic loanee’s situation, Comolli replied: “I’m waiting for an answer from him. I’d like to count him in the squad, Philippe [Montanier, the manager] as well”.
That’s when the newspaper come in with their own information, reporting the option to buy on the current deal taking the player from Parkhead to Toulouse was of €3m, which the French side don’t seem intent on paying by the end of the month.
That’s why ‘a new loan could be being studied’.
It could be that Ange Postecoglou has plans for the Ivory Coast international going forward, so we’ll have to wait and see in the coming days.
