Around a week ago, Jordan Veretout commented for the umpteenth time regarding his current situation away from Aston Villa.
Loaned by the Championship club to Saint-Etienne, the Villa midfielder has rekindled his career in France over the course of the past seven months, and it seems he would very much like to stay.
The midfielder revealed last week to RMC that talks had already taken place about a potential extension of his stay in France, although the details remained a secret.
Speaking to France Bleu this week, relayed by Le10 Sport, the Aston Villa player went on record again about how much he was enjoying life in Ligue 1, which won’t fill Steve Bruce with a lot of confidence regarding potentially bringing the former Nantes starlet to Villa Park.
He said: “Things are going very well at Saint-Etienne, it’s a good club, warm, with great fans like at Nantes. Everything is going well over there. I feel good, I have the manager’s and the staff’s trust. I feel very happy here, I’m settled, which is good for me. I hope it continues.”
The 24-year-old has made 35 appearances in all competitions for Saint-Etienne this season in all competitions, scoring four goals and picking up four assists over that time.
