Patrick Cutrone is on his way to Wolves. Literally.
MilanNews, who have been all over this story, sent someone to the airport today to catch the AC Milan player as he was heading to England to sign for the Premier League club.
Cutrone has been with the Serie A side since he was nine years of age, so the exit is big news among fans and has also come as something of a blow to the player.
Pulled out of training on Milan’s US tour, Cutrone looked bewildered when he arrived back in Italy, and it didn’t help that there was nobody waiting in the airport terminal to meet him.
MilanNews have asked the player some questions before he gets on the flight to England.
On looking upset when he flew back, he explained: “I’m fine. Disappointed? Well, you saw too… I have nothing to say. I’m ready, always.”
He thanked Milan fans for their many messages of support and sympathy regarding the way he’s been edged out of the club, and added: “Farewell to Milan? It also has an effect on me, but life is like that, decisions have to be made. I’ll try to do my best. Now I just think about integrating well and doing well there.”
Cutrone will certainly have something to prove at Wolves, wanting to make his previous club regret the way they’ve handled all of this.
