Not for the first time, Jorginho’s agent has been speaking to the Italian media about a possible return to Napoli for the midfielder.
The player left Napoli for Chelsea in 2018 and since then there’s been repeat rumours about a return to Italy. Those claims are often linked to Maurizio Sarri potentially going back to the Serie A club, after the pair worked so well together.
Given Sarri has been linked with Napoli again in recent days, it wasn’t going to be long before the Chelsea player was pulled into the scenario.
Jorge Santos, Jorginho’s agent, has been speaking to an Italian radio station, in comments picked up by Napoli Calcio, who quote him as saying: “Football is dynamic, nothing can be ruled out. If Sarri returns, they could make some attempts to bring Jorginho back as well.
“He likes him, he’s perfect for his game. I’m not ruling out anything. However, he has a two-year contract with Chelsea. He is a starter with the Italian national team, with a good project he would return to play in Italy.”
These comments are similar to previous ones from the agent, and it’s been continually clear that Santos is tempted by the prospect of his client returning to Italian football.
Chelsea, however, hold all the power given they have Jorginho on a contract lasting until June 2023.
