Norwich City youngster Rocky Bushiri has admitted he would be happy to stay at Hibernian should they decide to activate a purchase clause in his contract.
Bushiri has been with Norwich since a move from KV Oostende in August 2019 but is yet to appear for the first team and has only made two appearances for Norwich’s Under 23 side.
Instead, he’s spent most of his time with the club out on loan on spells with the likes of Blackpool, Sint-Truiden, KV Mechelen and KAS Eupen.
The latest of those loan spells finds him in Scotland with Hibernian, who he joined on loan for the rest of the season early on in the January transfer window.
He’s featured regularly for them since then, with eight appearances in all competitions so far and more likely to come before the campaign is over.
That could tempt Hibernian into making the deal a permanent one, an option they have having negotiated a purchase clause in the loan deal with Norwich.
And the youngster has admitted he would open the idea should the Scottish side look at that possibility.
“I really like the atmosphere and the culture. I wanted to stay in Britain because it suits me well,” he told DH Net.
“When you arrive on loan, you go looking for playing time and to be useful to the team. I don’t know if I expected to play so much so quickly, but I knew I could show my qualities quickly enough to impose myself in the starting XI.
“I have arrived at an important moment in my career. If I do things well and find stability, I know that there is this purchase option that is there.
“I’m very happy to be here, but you never know what can happen in football. Above all, I want to play as much as possible for a full season.
“Then we’ll see what happens. I’m happy in Great Britain, and I’ve always said that I dream of playing in the Premier League. believe in it. I think I’m not far from being able to achieve it. That’s really my goal.”
