Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City have all been linked with moves for Lazio’s Nicolo Rovella.

There was talk that the Citizens had even made an offer for the Italian in January and the Reds were rumoured to have made contact for the midfielder some weeks ago.

The Italy international has made a mark this season, showing his ability to conduct play from deep in midfield. Rovella has now spoken about his future at Lazio and has said he’s ‘flattered’ by links with Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

He spoke to Il Messaggero about his situation at the Roman giants and said, as relayed by LaLazioSiamoNoi: “I’m flattered that the big clubs are looking for me, but I’m already at a big club.”

Speaking further about his intentions and goals at Lazio, the Italian said: “I hope to win a lot here, to bring Lazio back to the top.”

It is clear that Rovella is happy at the Rome club and it might take something special for any of Aston Villa, Manchester City or Liverpool to tempt him away.

Lazio are still in a race to qualify for the Champions League and that can determine how they operate in the summer. If they fail to finish inside the top four in Serie A, that can bring about financial complexities and potentially impact Rovella’s future in Rome.
