Everton outcast Nikola Vlasic has spoken to Croatian media outlet Slobodnadalmacija about his future with the Premier League club.

The midfielder is currently on loan at CSKA Moscow and the 21 year old has been impressing for the Russian side since his arrival in the summer.

However, Vlasic doesn’t expect to be part of Everton’s plans next season when he returns in the summer: “Everton spent a lot of money for reinforcements last summer. But the team currently sitting 11th place in the league and that means there’s new players set to join the club over the course of next transfer windows. They are trying to become similar to Tottenham, they are targeting to break into top six.”

He added: “So, thinking logically, it will be hard for me to play there. So, I’m expecting them to sell me once a suitable bid arrives.”

Vlasic joined Everton from Hajduk Split for €10.8m at the start of last season but struggled in his time in England, making just 12 Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

The Croatian midfielder failed to make his mark whilst at Goodison Park, but since joining CSKA Moscow on loan he’s scored 7 goals in 20 appearances. This has brought him praise in the Russian media and there’s hope of a longer term deal.

Vlasic is under contract with the Merseyside club until June 2022.
