Thankfully for Liverpool, and presumably fans still nursing a sore head, the Reds have a week off from matches before facing Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

After victory over Tottenham at the weekend secured their Premier League title, celebrations very quickly got into full swing. Given there was a very high probability that the trophy would be secured on the day, plans were made by fans to make the occasion a big one.

Players have also been celebrating and there will be more of that to come when the official trophy parade goes through the city on May 26th.

In their respective home countries there’s pride at the individual achievements, and that’s certainly true in Hungary for Dominik Szoboszlai.

Tuesday’s edition of Hungarian newspaper Blikk has an article on the Liverpool midfielder and his achievements this season.

They quote the 24-year-old, immediately after the victory, as saying: “I haven’t yet understood what happened, we’ve already celebrated a little, but we’ll definitely continue. My family is here, everyone is here, but I don’t know what the team is planning for the evening yet, I’m just drifting with the tide.”

Blikk say the player was filled with ‘euphoria’, and it was pointed out to him that even Steven Gerrard failed to win a title with Liverpool: “I did not think about that, he did so much to become a legend. Gerrard has already won a trophy that I have not yet.

“This is not only my own success, but also that of those who have been with me on the road so far. I send this success to all of Hungary, and I hope that I will have more of it.”
