Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi has spoken to Turkish TV Channel TRT Spor and expressed his thoughts about Loris Karius.
The German goalkeeper left the club in April after terminating his loan contract. It was reported he left because of unpaid wages, leading to a disagreement with the Besiktas board.
Speaking to TRT Spor, as covered by Sporx, Cebi said he was disappointed with Karius’ behaviour and believes the German could have acted better: “Loris Karius is a different case. Of course, we are losing revenue and some of our players have to make some sacrifices if they want to stay at the club.
The 26 year old returned to Liverpool after spending two turbulent years in Turkey, but his future on Merseyside still looks uncertain.
With Alisson being Jurgen Klopp’s undisputed No.1, the former Mainz player will find it difficult to get a look in next season, especially in the Premier and Champions League.
Karius could provide back up to the Brazilian, but there have reports of a return to the Bundesliga.
His contract at Liverpool will expire at the end of June 2022.
