Tomáš Souček will complete one year at West Ham United in January 2021.

The Hammers initially took the midfielder on a loan deal from Slavia Prague in the winter 2020 market and made his stay permanent in the summer after he impressed in the second half of last season.

Souček has continued to impress for David Moyes’ side this term, and has also contributed three goals in 14 league games.

The Czech international’s fine displays for the Premier League side have seen him being linked to Bayern Munich. Last week, the 25-year-old admitted he is ‘at peace in London’ while addressing the rumours of interest from the treble winners.

Czech outlet Gól covered a detailed interview with the West Ham player, where they stated the English club’s fans on social media are ‘concerned’ over the recent reports linking him to the Bundesliga winners.

Responding to that, Souček said: “I’m calm. I’m happy at West Ham. I want to be here. Yes, you never know what the future holds for me, but I’m not looking at anything but the club [West Ham] right now. My main focus is on football.”

Gól followed it up by suggesting it must be nice to be linked with Bayern, to which the midfielder agreed. However, he once again reiterated his commitment to West Ham.

“Yes, of course. Everyone loves praise. I feel very comfortable being talked about in the context of a club like this, that the coach, my teammates, the fans are talking positively about me,” he explained.

“As I say, these things [negotiations] go beyond me. I focus only on my club, on my performances. I will listen or read about the positives, but otherwise there’s nothing so far.”
