Everton’s Jesper Lindstrom has struggled in front of goal this season, having played 25 Premier League games since his arrival last summer.

Despite his poor goalscoring run, he was called up to the Denmark national team and he featured for the side in their 1-0 win over Portugal in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final.

The game saw Lindstrom’s goalless run extend to as many as 77 games for club and country but in a chat with Tipsbladet, he revealed that he isn’t too bothered by the statistic.

He told the outlet with a smile: “It’s just great that there’s that publicity. Bad publicity is better than no publicity. It just shows that there are people who are keeping an eye on my statistics.”

“I would like to score some goals, that’s clear.”

He also spoke to Campo after the game and the Everton played indicated that he feels less pressure while playing for Denmark.

The 25-year-old said: “I’m actually surprised at how free I am.”

“I feel like there is someone who is going to pressure me, but there isn’t, and so I drive myself.”

The fact that Lindstrom isn’t too bothered by a negative stat should be good news for Everton, who have still seen the Napoli loanee put in good performances in the Premier League.

It shows that things could get better soon and if the Dane is contributing effectively to the team without scoring goals, it is still a positive.
