Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is a man with a lot of confidence.

The 24-year-old currently plays for Asante Kotoko in his native Ghana, but despite having yet made the leap north to Europe, he’s not holding back with his career goals.

Speaking to Kwaku Osei TV, relayed by Afrique Sports, the centre-back has revealed he aims to play at Old Trafford one day for Manchester United.

He said: “I’ll be the first Ghanaian to play for Manchester United in England. The way it’ll happen will surprise a lot of people, but it will happen.

“I’ve suffered a lot, and I don’t want other people living that situation. I want to play for an elite club and earn so much money to be able to help people currently in difficulty”.

Afrique Sports point out the player may get his chance to move to a European league in the near future, as he’s being followed by Portuguese side Rio Ave, having caught their eye during a performance in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Only time will tell whether or not Badu manages to achieve his goal of featuring for the Red Devils in the coming years, but you certainly have to admire his confidence.

As for the ‘surprise’ way it will happen, we’re looking forward to seeing what it is.
