It seems Samir Ghoulam is really keen on leaving Napoli. Besides not accepting the club’s new contract, the player has also been offered to several European sides, as reported by Italian newspaper Il Mattino today.
With his deal expiring next year, Napoli have already made their efforts and offered him a salary of almost €2m per season, which was rejected. Ghoulam’s brother is said to be speaking to clubs lately, and two Serie A rivals are interested: Juventus and Milan.
Ghoulam was recently pointed out as ‘ideal’ for Everton by an Italian football expert, due to his good physique and offensive skills. The 26 year old is primarily a left back but can also play in a more attacking role, a similar profile to that of Sead Kolasinac, repeatedly linked with Everton this season.
Should Ronald Koeman be looking for that type of player, then it’s only natural Ghoulam would be an option.
Il Mattino claims the player has two options if he doesn’t renew his contract. He either stays for one more season and walks away for free to wherever he wants next year, or moves abroad for €15m+, as Napoli have no intention of strengthening their Italian rivals.
That, of course, sounds like a fortunate situation for Everton.
