Barcelona like Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves but the idea of a swap deal for Nico Gonzalez has been rejected by the Catalans.

That’s according to journalist Helena Condis, who says the notion was dismissed by Barcelona in a meeting with Jorge Mendes today.

The super-agent is meeting with Barcelona to discuss various transfer possibilities this summer, including Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, who has been named as a target.

He and several Portuguese stars could be put on the table by Mendes, and Neves, who is widely expected to leave Wolves this year, is one of them.

And it seems a deal was proposed, too, with the idea of swapping Neves for Nico proposed to those in charge at the Nou Camp.

However, despite Barcelona being fans of Neves, ‘there can be no barter with Nico’ as Barca ‘don’t want to sell’ him or Alejandro Balde.

Xavi and co are limited in what they can do at this moment in time due to the financial situation at the club, but Joan Laporta ‘asks for calm’ and has promised they will ‘find solutions’ so they are able to sign players.

One of them could be Wolves star Neves and contacts have been initiated with Mendes, but a swap deal will absolutely not be happening.
