Mamadou Sakho is the new name in Porto’s agenda, according to A Bola.
The newspaper claims Liverpool have no intention of selling the player, but he has lost his spot in the team and could be leaving on a loan.
Sakho managed to annoy manager Jurgen Klopp whilst on the club’s pre-season tour and that inevitably led to exit rumours.
The biggest problem for Porto is Sakho’s wages, because the 26-year-old reportedly earns €5.2m per year at Anfield.
Since Liverpool are said to be interested in Bruno Martins Indi and Porto want a world class defender, A Bola says the clubs could get closer to each other, with the Reds paying for part of Sakho’s wages.
It sounds like a reasonable plan, especially this close to the end of the window, but it would all depend on how serious Liverpool are about Martins Indi… that’s if they have any interest at all.
