Watford chief Cristiano Giaretta has backed Dušan Vlahović to join Tottenham Hotspur in the near future.
The striker’s current deal at Fiorentina lasts until 2023 and the Serie A side have confirmed he has already decided against renewing his contract with them.
His situation off the pitch has had no impact on his form as the Serbia international has managed 18 goals and three assists from 22 matches in all competitions. He is currently the league’s top scorer with 16 goals.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to the north London club last summer and has reportedly remained on their agenda after Antonio Conte arrived in the English capital in November. Apart from Spurs, Juventus are also credited with interest in the La Viola star.
The Hornets director of sport spoke to TuttoMercatoWeb and during the course of the interview, Giaretta was asked whether Vlahović can be the ‘right man for Tottenham’.
Responding to that, the Watford director said: “Conte is a pretentious coach. From an attacker, he also wants running, defensive phase. Vlahovic is complete, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Tottenham.”
