Now announced as a new Paris Saint Germain signing, Vitinha has had a quite curious career in football so far.

After showing his potential at Porto, he moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020 on a loan deal which included an option to buy.

His form at Wolves, however, wasn’t enough to convince the Molineux side to buy him. So he returned to Porto, and with the Dragons not able to sell him in a lucrative deal, they decided to give him one more chance at the club.

It turned out that Vitinha had a great season for the Portuguese giants, and ended up sold to PSG in a €41.5m deal, completing a rollercoaster of curious moves in the past couple of years.

Vitinha has now been interviewed by French outlet RMC Sport, and the long chat included Wolves, with the player being asked if it had been too early for him to join the Premier League side. He claims the move was good for him, since he learned a lot at Molineux.

“You can say that, because I didn’t leave my mark. I played little with Wolves, so we can say that, but I think it was very good,” Vitinha told RMC Sport.

“It brought me things that I probably wouldn’t have had if I hadn’t gone there. I grew up a lot, including off the pitch, on the things I had to learn, on what it’s like to be in a club, outside your country, outside your comfort zone. If I could go back, I wouldn’t change anything. Because that’s what made me come here, and have a much bigger background.”
