Nottingham Forest signed Brandon Aguilera from Costa Rican side Alajuelense in the last transfer window and immediately loaned him out to AD Guanacasteca for six months.
There is no clarity over where the Costa Rica international will play in the second half of this season.
He has been on vacation after featuring three times for his country at the World Cup. The 19-year-old has revealed Nottingham Forest will decide his immediate future.
“I have to go home and then I would have to report to Nottingham Forest to see what happens,” La Nación quoted him as saying.
Over at La Teja, they explain the midfielder hopes to define his future at the start of 2023. After spending his entire playing career in his home country, the chances of Aguilera extending his stay in Costa Rica are remote.
This is revealed by his agent, who also explained his client will not be part of Steve Cooper’s plans at Nottingham Forest in the second half of this season.
“I would rule it out, Costa Rica practically rules it out, actually at 99.9%, there is always a chance, but I rule it out right now, I would rule out the Premier League for him and Costa Rica, he needs an intermediate step that fits, and start to grow as a person and a footballer, and obviously Costa Rica doesn’t give you that,” Kurt Morsink told La Teja.
“It is unlikely that he will go to Nottingham Forest, it is a team that is fighting relegation in the Premier League, and it is a very high jump, so we are going to see if we make the loan in Europe, the priority is that he plays in Europe. Let your career begin there quietly.”
The Nottingham Forest player’s representative has a few markets in mind for the winter market.
“I like the Belgian market, the Netherlands, I think they are top leagues, which help the growth of the player and they believe a lot in young players, so we always see each other there,” the agent explained.
“Nottingham Forest have a good relationship with Olympiacos, let’s see, we’ll keep working, we have time to find the best situation for him.”
