Toni Leistner made only one appearance in the first four matches for Queens Park Rangers at the start of the season. Since then, the 29-year-old has missed only one league fixture in 2019.
However, things changed for the centre-back in January as made only one appearance for the Championship side.
He then joined FC Köln on loan until the end of the season and the defender’s moved to the Bundesliga side was completed during the final days of the winter market.
QPR and Köln have an agreement to make the player’s stay in Germany permanent in the summer.
Leistner has given an interview to Bild, where he made it clear he doesn’t want to return Mark Warburton’s side.
“As with many other players, there have never been any discussions with the FC Köln. Due to the Corona crisis, this is currently not a priority. And I understand that.”
Leistner has played the full 90 minutes on four occasions for Köln and the latter collectively conceded only three goals in those fixtures.
Even though it’s not clear where Leistner will play next season, it’s clear he has no plans to represent QPR again. His contract with the English club runs down in 2021.
