Polish defender Jaroslaw Jach took some time to look back at some of the decisions in his career in an interview with local outlet Goal.pl today.
Now at Rakow on a loan deal which runs until the summer, the Crystal Palace player has been struggling to get some playing time, not only at the London side, but during his spells at other clubs as well.
Before joining the Selhurst Park side on a €2.5m move from Zaglebie Lubin in 2018, Jach had been linked to a transfer to Italy as well, but despite how bad things are going for him, he claims he doesn’t regret the decision to move to England.
“For those times, I think this transfer was something big. The Italian direction was and is still very popular among Polish footballers who do a good job there. However, I decided to take a different move and the go to the English league. It all turned out differently than I had imagined”, Jach told Goal.
“The transfer was high, but the level in this team for that time was probably a bit too high for me. But I’ll never regret this move, because it has its advantages. Perhaps I could’ve made my career a little better. In any case, I made this decision and I’m trying to continue living after it. I won’t change anything anymore. I focus on what’s in front of me, not what has already happened.”
Jach only stayed at Crystal Palace for six months when arriving. He didn’t have any chances to make his debut, and soon started going out on loan spells. First Rizespor from Turkey, then Sheriff from Romania and later Rakow from Poland.
When returning to the Eagles in 2020, he made one appearance in an EFL Cup tie against Bournemouth, but that was all he could get, as he soon moved to Fortuna Sittard in the same summer. With few chances there, he agreed another loan to Rakow last month.
His contract with Crystal Palace expires in June.
